throwing stones
2011
This work began as a study on the activity of throwing stones. I collected stones that felt comfortable in my hand as an object that I could throw with force. I then mapped my handprint on each stone and coated the space with layers of black rubber creating a comfortable grip to hold as well as a graphic mark on each piece. These stones were thrown in a performance in 2011 that documented the sound, motion and impact of this activity.
An audio track from the performance of these stones can be heard here.
